Gary Hengst

Chief Plant Operator

Gary Hengst is a Grade V wastewater treatment plant operator and currently works at the Lincoln Wastewater Treatment Plant. In addition to his certification, Gary holds a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from California Polytechnic University and a business degree from Sacramento State University. Gary was awarded Operator of the Year 2002 for the Sacramento Section of the California Water Environment Association.

Gary is an expert in managing industrial facilities. He takes great satisfaction in process improvement and turning raw materials into items of value and worth. While Gary enjoys working with mechanical processes, he values most his connection to people and appreciates that his work affects the health and welfare of people served by the WWTP.
