Water Quality Permitting
Permitting for wastewater treatment plants is a complex process because both state and federal laws are continually changing. The Water Quality Permitting Group at ECO:LOGIC stays abreast of these changes and is among the industry's most respected experts who provide a wide range of technical permitting services.
By pairing our Water Quality Permitting team together with our design engineers, ECO:LOGIC has been very successful in developing permit limitations that result in significantly reduced utility costs. Using an iterative process of considering proposed constituent limitations versus the costs to build and maintain treatment units for each, ECO:LOGIC professionals negotiate permits that offer the best and most cost-effective solutions possible.
A testament to our leadership in the field is best expressed by the regulators themselves. In 2004, the State Water Resources Control Board asked ECO:LOGIC water quality professionals to develop a series of educational courses covering wastewater treatment, effluent disposal/reclamation and water quality permitting to be taught to State Board and Regional Board regulators. The Water Boards Training Academy has run from 2004-2009. In 2009, a four-volume class manual was developed to supplement the formal classroom sessions. The manual covers topics on wastewater design, treatment, disposal and permit compliance.
